Billy Update Returns: The Squid Strikes Back
Submitted for the approval of the Zapling Society: An actual factory painted Billy the Squid toy. Isn’t he majestic? For real, though, friends, they are painting the squids right now. I have sent in the package designs to be printed and I have been told more than once that they should finally be shipping to YOU THE COSTUMER by the end of September.
How exciting is that?
So, what that means is that time is running out to get the discounted preorder price of $9.95! After that they go up to $13, so if you want one of these little cuties order now! You can get them via Patch Together (credit cards, US orders) or use Paypal in the Webcomic Bucket store if for whatever reason you can’t use Patch Together.
We sure stuck it out waiting for these toys. I feel like we’re about to get those awesome front-row concert tickets we camped out for. Thanks to you guys for being so patient.
489 | Haters Gonna Hate
Holly really does have every right to not be too keen on the Aquarians. We can love them, though. Because they are super future aquatic psychic pterodactyls. (Honestly, that sounds like a 14-year-old’s DnD character, except maybe he is also a half-elf.)
Did you see Scott Pilgrim vs. The World this weekend? It’s a good time! Shame what happened with Ramona’s character in the movie, as opposed to her character in the books, but that’s really my only complaint. Most of you boy-types who appreciate princesses for being in other castles will likely not mind. Wallace Wells is the greatest and I laughed obnoxiously loud in a manner that was beyond my control quite a bit. Everyone else was cracking up too, so I didn’t feel too bad. That’s all I will bother you about Scott Pilgrim.
Also, I raced go-karts this weekend. I won both races by about half a lap each. I was born to kart! I hereby challenge each and every one of you to a go-kart race. Please realize that your ass is grass and it is nothing personal.

Play the Billy the Squid Game!
Hello, Zaplings! Joe put together this awesome Billy the Squid game as my Callakuh present and you can now play the first level! (Facebook fans got to see it earlier, twitter followers EVEN SOONER THAN THAT!)
Guide Billy through a star field, eating space fishes and avoiding Daedelus and asteroids as you go, but maybe hit an asteroid once just so you can see Billy’s smashed face!.
After you beat the level (I know you can do it!) drop a note here letting us know what kind of levels you’d like to see added in the future. :)

Doesn’t ‘greasy fish’ make you think of Long John Silvers? I eat there about once every year or so and the stomach ache I get afterwords reminds me why I don’t eat there very often. Panel one Holly is doing that thing where you try very hard to not cry in public. : (

I wish there was more time left in the story to really delve into Holly, Inman and Scherzer’s friendship. OH WELL! You can just infer the mutual respect from this scene. Aaah… inference.

I’m really excited about them and already have a Naveed on my keys (I’m testing the durability… yes… that’s it). These charms are around 2 inches tall (a little less) and hard plastic.
They’d work great on your keyring, cell phone or dangling off your school bag. I’m sure they’d work wonderfully for other purposes, too… I just haven’t thought of those yet.
