653 | I Have Detected Three

Someone is about to get real real beat-up. ANY GUESSES WHO IT IS?

Comments

  • No, the news is Gunner has just realized that Excelsior was the ship he was searching for all along and that Efrem took steps to hide that from him.

  • Oh, but maybe we haven’t specifically said that Efrem was a lost one yet? We just always kind of lumped him in with the trio.

The lost ones get explained soon!

  • stealth

I guess you never explicitly said he was, but due to circumstance and dialogue I always assumes he was.

  • stealth

Swell. Eframstoast. Question though.why exactly is zap more important to funner then efram? That is the vibe I always got.
Anyway, things are gonna get dicey now. I hope the excelsiors crew doesn’t get decimated, I don’t want rhe new guys to be red shirts. Things are getrinf hot.
(Pouts because the was no william)

  • yeah, we always included him.

    Caaaaaause he is.

  • ‘Funner’ is a great typo.

Zap, Gunner, and Efrem’s past get’s explained at the beginning of the final chapter (so, like, right after this big fight is over).

BUT! Zap is clearly more powerful than Efrem, so at least more valuable to Gunner in that sense.

I think Efrem and Zap might have been working together against Little G.

  • >:)

  • Anonymous

No, something ugly’s about to happen, I suspect…

  • Anonymous

We’re all pretty much trying to connect the dots. Based on what Pascalle’s told us in the discussion threads, we should be due a flashback anytime now that’ll connect more of them for us.

  • Anonymous

Oh, far from it. Hints have been dropped earlier on that he was a Lost One (Why else would Gunner be speaking in their language to Efrem (“Careful, Careful…”)?)

Gunner’s beyond peeved at him for the reasons Pascalle just disclosed.

  • safyrejet

Try saying that five times fast. Or maybe not, I don’t say the s-word anyway.

  • safyrejet

*Phtp* Zap’s got better hair. We all know Gunner is all about the hair.

  • Doccer

    Well that was fast…

  • stealth

OMG! XD that is a great typo! I guess that’s what I get for not paying attention to my typing when uzing my phone to pist stuff.
Hm. Saying that efram is the least powerful makes me like him a little more, I like the underdogs, lol.

  • stealth

    Fast but ominous.

  • Ori Klein

    I just thought of something.
It would be artistically appropriate for Funner (it seems to me like this type-o’ deserves to be a thing) to meet his end by way of falling and being impaled upon a giant phallus-shaped mountain spike or such.
Because, you know, he’s kind of a dick. So he deserves to get screwed out, literally, to emphasize a brutal and dismal end to his violent and grim endeavours of cataclysm.

  • Ori Klein

RIP Efram. You tried your best.

  • Anonymous

I have the strangest feeling Robot plays into this somehow.

  • Anonymous

I always knew it was too much to hope that the story would go on indefinitely. Either way, thanks for the decade of enjoyable comics :-D

  • >.>;

  • UNO DOS TRES!!!

  • Thanks for reading!

It’s better if it becomes a full, complete thing you can enjoy and reread!

At least I think so. :)

  • UUuuuuhhh……..

  • Ori Klein

I apologize if I made you feel uncomfortable. Feel free to remove/hide my posts in such a case.

  • haha. joking, bro. Sorry I made you feel bad.

You clearly don’t like Gunner, though!

  • Ori Klein

Beyond aesthetics there is not much to like.
    He is emotional-driven. I am logic-driven.
He is seeking complete universal sterilization. That is unproductive on many layers. Moreover, xenocide is counteractive to my survival and propagation.
Furthermore, when it comes to petty villainous assholes, I am somewhat of a bigger sadist asshole. I enjoy their suffering. Twisted sense of perverted justice and all that.

  • Ori Klein

How badly do you reckon is Efrem going to get eviscerated?

  • Anonymous

Pretty badly, all things considered…unless our intrepid heroes on the Excelsior come in and meddle in the nick of time…

  • Anonymous

Deeep trouble, in you are, young Jedi… >:-D

  • Anonymous

Don’t bet on him dying…yet…something tells me that it’s going to get REAL unpleasant, though, because of this turn of events. But there’s still some loose ends not disclosed and tied up. Robot’s memory chip, for example… Or the flashback Pascale promised us would be coming shortly, for that matter…

  • Anonymous

Oh, I think she’s going to choose Zap. As for how they’re all Lost Ones…I suspect we’re going to be finding that one out shortly… >:-D

  • Anonymous

There’s zero Rule 34 stuff for Zap? Really? Heh…someone’ll probably rectify that shortly… >:-D

  • they’ve had ten years.

    It’s not going to happen.

  • aw man! we’re at the end so it’s fun to get to break everything!!

  • stealth

Wow. And here I am, feeling bad for badguys when they die simply because I don’t like anyone dieing. Karmic retribution in the form of an ‘I must scream’ scenario where they are alive yet paying (in some cases eternal) penance foe their crimes, however, is much more satisfying. The fate of Elder Togoro from Yu Yu Hakusho comes to mind….

  • Me-me

I likes my violence gratuitous I does.

  • Ori Klein

Since you brought it up, (and if Pascalle doesn’t mind this plug) GOG is having a $6 sale of that master piece.

To be honest, I am far too sissy to dare and touch it.
    That stuff is nightmare fuel.

  • crazyman

Of course you realize that phrase is copyrighted. You owe Michael Buffer $5.00. :D

  • JusB

I know Gunner’s evil and all, and maybe it’s because I haven’t been reading the comic as religiously as I should but…

Gunner looks really hot in the bottom left panel. Great wind-to-braid ratio…

  • No, it’s okay. Gunner is exquisite.

    Also, evil.

  • Speedy Marsh
  • Speedy Marsh

When I saw this strip, I thought, “Dude, an LSD detector”

  • Speedy Marsh

Aaaand just then, the GEF’s failsafe time delayed nuke goes off.
    End of story ;)

  • Speedy Marsh

This is the dawning of the Age of Excelsior, the Age of Excelsior, Ex…ceeeel…siooor…

  • ReBoot Fan

    No substitutions, exchanges or refunds.

  • leavescat

I guess this is why Daedalus was not to seek the lost ones. This particular scan alerts the subjects, and he was trying to hide the ship from Gunner.
