SAY WHAAAAT?

(If you feel a little lost on this page, maybe you missed the extra update that went up last week? You gotta keep up!)

I’m so excited about the plot things that are finally happening! I hope you guys are as well! My favorite part about this page is the look Gunner gives Naveed in panel one. Swoon.

Also, I put quite a few new things up on my tumblr this week. You might enjoy them!

Thanks for reading!

I was wondering if Zap made them or if they were leftover tech from the Lost Ones or something.

I’ve been following your tumbler. The cover looks great. I’m looking forward to getting my hands on book 2! (As well as the rest of them when you get to them.)

if the emmy awards looked and glowed like andromeda it might acturally give me reason to watch.

also, i cannot help but notice the position of naveed’s hand in the first panel.

    OOOH SHINY!!

  • Kerrie Manning

Hopefully we’ll get clued in who or what is ‘the lost ones’?

    More psychics?

BTW I’m loving this comic :D

  • Yeah, you’re gonna find out next week. :P

  • Safyrejet

Zap designed them  ;P  So he likes his holographic interfaces looking glowy naked ladies.  I wonder if that knowledge would make Reona mad…

The way Naveed is posed in the first panel it looks like she’s holding a doll.  I just had the picture in my head of Gunner slapping her hand away *NO touching!*  hehe.  Hey, Zap designed the futuristic Barbie!  She comes with her own pink space ship!

  • Christopher Brady

Man, who knew Zap was a pervert.  A hologram girl, that looks like Reona (before he met her, of course) in nothing but stockings and long gloves.  Not even faux circuitry to make believe she’s clothed or ‘artificial’ (despite being so.)

    XD

  •  I wish I had been able to get volume 2 out by the holidays, but I FAILED.

  • To be fair, they aren’t wearing stockings, nor are they anatomically correct to the extent you could say they were naked.

  • Super intelligent AIs capable of fetching lost ones and interfacing with psis, yet they still don’t do “windows” ;)

  • Christopher Brady

    Excuses!

    XD

  • Christopher Brady

XD  Don’t make me come over there.

  • juko

Oh snap Excelsior doesn’t have her arm and leg bands on the hottest page of her (422)!

  • lightsabermario

They’re Barbie naked.  Actually a little bit more so than that, because barbies just have lumps, whereas these are full-out funbags.

  • Dgeniu

I bet Gunner enjoys holding people in the palm of his hand..literally :D

would give a whole new apect on the “i’m squishing your head”  thing.

  • Nick

    Epiphany!!!

Earlier, didn’t Excelsior say that Efrem disabled her? I believe she did. This leads to Efrem knowing what that technology meant to Gunner and hiding it from him so as to protect the ship and Reona. Is he still resisting Gunner? Is he just bound to him because of his psychic abilities? We can infer that he is doing all of this against his will

In any case, he is hiding Excelsior from Gunner by having disabled it and by the fact that Gunner doesn’t know about it. Will this lead to him being released or punished by Gunner (if Gunner finds out how he hid Excelsior)? There is anpossibility of a time when they are all reunited.

  • Nick

    A possibility*

  • Nick

Because after he met her, she was always frowning.

    XD

  • Nick

Oh, an besides him and Gunner, does this mean he has some connection to Zap?

  • Nick

Ok, now I’m just replying over and over to my own comments, but I have one more insight to share.

Consider how Efrem was the one to get that particular ship with that technology in the first place. What kind of implications does that have? Coincidence? I think not.

  • Efrem knew Zap before Zap lost his memory. Efrem says so way back in volume 4.5! :)

  • You are on to something, here. Very good!

  • Dgeniu

Efrem is not on Gunner`s side. He could be working from the inside OR playing along until the right moment, perhaps with a plan of his own?

  • Dgeniu

PS. the Casino arc is still my favourite to this day! It`s what got me hooked on Zap! I like where the current arc is going..can`t wait to see how all the loose ends are tied together! <3

  • The Casino arc is some of my best work, I think. Even though it is an old art style, a lot of it really works. It’s solid.

Interesting fact, when the casino arc was updating we got a lot of flack from people for how long it was taking. Chris and I were adamant that it would be worth it; that we were doing something really important and specific, and now years later it remains the most popular arc. People come up to me at conventions and want to talk about the casino arc.

tl;dr Chris and I were right.

best work and great story arc? it should be with that starry evening gown Reona was wearing,…but we all know the most thrilling part of the whole comic was near the beginning with the zap vs. space squid incident. we all know what he was going through, we’ve all been there, just replace “giant space squid” with “spider” or “snake”……or worse, a cat with a glue trap stuck to its rump.

    …friggin nightmare.

  • Dgeniu

Well, people need to chill and understand that even though the comic is entertaining, you guys have jobs and lives.

  • John Smith

So…WTF is with the “Lost Ones” already (besides the fact that they’re LOST…IN…SPAAAAAAACE)?

  • John Smith

“My name is Debbie. I do dishes. I don’t do windows. Only assholes do windows.”

  • Taymanator

Now wait a minute, didn’t Ephrem use the psychic interface while being captain? Wouldn’t he have told Gunner that the Excelsior had a psychic interface? hmm….
