  • Ghalail

    Yeah! Woo! Go Inman!

  • LenaruHeart

    O.O
He is a NINJA in DISGUISE.

    …Like… a ninjapirate. Or something.

  • Flash

A believe the term is nijate

  • Eboreg

    Actually, it's ninjirate

  • SPACE Ninja Pirate :)

  • Kurieo

Damnit, where's the Like button to that??

  • Actually, since he's a pirate first and a ninja in combat, wouldn't he be a piranja? ;)

    Don't forget to VOTE, everyone!

    :)

  • northsteve

    Pirate…Ninja….Space pirate ninja.
Reona better aim at the gaping hole Inman just opened up and take that thing's head off.
    UNLESS ITS A HYDRA.

  • SpringLoaded12

    SO.
    BADASS.

  • gary102

Can i have a “HELL YEAH (legolas)!”

Anyway, been reading the Comic a pretty long time now and thi is my first comment so i have to say:

Awesome work! One of my all-time-favs, especially artwork-wise
    Keep it up!

  • Guus

    Like a professional monster hunter

  • snowhummingbird

    That had to hurt. xD
Show your awesome skills, Inman! xD

  • Welcome, fellow Zapling!

    :)

  • TeflonSoul

Was one of his ancestors the Prince of Persia?

  • Thanks, Gary! welcome!

  • me

    Isn't screech misspelled?

  • DeathOfRats

And there I was, wondering how the hell Inman intended to hurt the monster with those rather tiny daggers…

Great page, although a bit of fridge logic remains: Why does Inman attack alone? During this maximum-badass-manoeuver, surely Scherzer would have had time to hack away on the serpent with his monstrous cutlasses?

  • (because they're just trying to stall until Reona's cannon recharges)

  • It's a sound effect; the misspellings are deliberate, and intended to indicate slight alterations in the sound from the standard “screech”. The “k” makes the initial scratching sound harder, and the “a” gives a slight uplift to the pitch of the screech at the end of the sound.

(At least that's how I chose to read it … )
    ;)

  • DeathOfRats

… and it wouldn't be as cool… and a lot messier, I guess. Point taken.

  • DeathOfRats

    Or it could be a sea-serpent-lisp… ;D

  • EatzRainbows

he looked more kick ass in his old clothes…

  • Neska

I have always been of the opinion that pirates and ninjas are fully compatible and shouldn't be enemies, especially in space,

  • Tresk

Here, here! Why should we have to choose between the two? I think that ninja pirates would be the menace of the sea. One minute they're not there, the next you've got a cutless on your neck..

  • Strike_Reyhi

even then you just have to get up on the hydras back.

  • Strike_Reyhi

Gary your name reminds me of that one Vault in Fallout 3 with the gary clones.

  • Strike_Reyhi

clearly it is turn based combat.

  • Neveko

    ONOMATOPOEIA SWARM!

  • gary102

I don't exactly know if that is good or not *laughs*
Never played the game… though my brother has it

  • DeathOfRats

    I thought so at first.

But if it was, how do you explain Inman having 5 actions (2 separate movements, 2 double-handed attacks and 1 defense/dodge) within the same round? Also, the battles in past episodes did not appear to be turn based- or if they did, it was so subtle that I didn'd notice ;)

  • In a turn-based combat system, Inman is the character who 'jumps', is gone for a round or two, then drops back in on the enemy dealing massive damage.

I… played a lot of Final Fantasy as a kid.

  • Andrew

Go Inman! Kickass sub driver, badass “Itty-bitty-so-up-close-and-personal” knife fighter- makes me wonder what Scherzer has up his sleeves.

The Pirate-Ninja Peace Treaty of 2077 made for some seriously cool cross-pollination…takes the whole “learn from your enemies” to a new level.

  • But Scherzer doesn't have any sleeves …

    ;)

  • LenaruHeart

Yeah. I have a friend who is a Ninjirate, after all. Seriously. She's a black belt and was later officially appointed into pirate-dom by ANOTHER friend… who is a pirate. It works for her. XD

  • Neska

Kinda fights me too, since I've been in martial arts since elementary school and am on a first name basis with The Pirate Guys, founders of International Talk Like A Pirate Day.

  • Tresk

Out of curiosity, what IS their first names? (And for that matter, what're their last names?)

  • Neska

Cap'n Slappy is actually Mark Summers, and Ol' Chumbucket is John Bauer. They've been involved with the Albany Civic Theatre in Albany, OR, for many years now. My father was in The Pirates of Penzance with them both, and I ran sound for it.

  • Thatoneguy456

    Dude that was cool.

  • Underseer

    Spinjarate

  • Marduk

This is the sort of moment you see in a cinema and you hit your friends shoulder “did you see that? DID YOU SEE THAT?!”

  • Negatron

So that makes him… a dragoon?

But then shouldn’t he be using a spear instead of knives?

  • Negatron

These are his old clothes. There were never any new clothes. He’s had the same clothes on ever since he appeared. Talk about poor personal hygiene. Then again pirates are “considered the scum of the ocean” =)

  • Or, like most comic characters, he could simply have a closet full of duplicates of his usual outfit…

  • That was so… dumb.

Throwing your swords… let alone both at the same time… is pretty much always a stupid idea. He obviously got all sorts of lucky with that ridiculous stunt.

  • They are throwing knives.

    One throws them.

  • They look a bit large and non-aerodynamic for throwing knives… BUT you’re the boss… I’ll take your word for it.

  • Anonymous

I kinda have to agree with Soti here, Miz Pascalle (may I call you Miz Pascalle?) – unless he’s got another weapon, he really shouldn’t have thrown his weapons away in battle. No matter how badass it looks.

  • John Smith

Yeah! Plus he got them back in the last panel. :)
