Forget that once we were just dust, from heavens far…

  • Mike

Zap’s people seem to follow a very zen-like ideology. Followed, I suppose.

  • SpiritusUnikura

zap! is dying. oh no, to the universe and beyond!

  • Crestlinger

Ah so he’s a Lifestreamer. That explains the green glow as preference then, and the coat’s trailers.
    *Starts playing Jaws theme.

  • safyrejet

Taking your quantum physics just a little too far there, eh Zap?

Soooo, by walking in (on?) that water, you’re stepping on yourself?

  • Canin Christell

How remarkably metaphysical of you, Zap. Didn’t know you had it in you.

Look at you. *Sniff, sniff* Like a big boy. All grown up. Seems like only yesterday that the deepest comment you had to make was about Grontar’s deodorant.

  • Walking on self, breathing in self. Such is life.

  • mirrim

Love the fact that Zap is walking on water to illustrate his point. : )

  • safyrejet

So when we drink water….oh my gosh! We’re all cannibals!

I could so totally mess with Zap’s peaceful state of mind. He’s lucky I’m not his dream girl. I’d disturb him I think.

  • Speedy Marsh

I kept looking for the ghosts of Obi Wan, Yoda, and Anakin xD

I like my particles right where they are. It’s really hard to click on webcomics links without particles. Although, if I were an energy being, I might be able to interact with the capacitive touch screen on my tablet…

  • Speedy Marsh

Yeah, you don’t want to think too hard about the circle of life, especially if you live near a crematorium. All those atoms and molecules that get released into the atmosphere that we breathe…

  • haha. I think if you grew up understanding the relationship between your body and the rest of matter in this way the idea of breathing in someone else as ashes wouldn’t gross you out.

It kind of doesn’t really even gross me out and I’m not a transcendental existentialist psychic alien boy.

  • Faded_Psychosis

all life grows from death after all… everything you eat was once a living being, be it plant, animal, or other (I’m looking at you fungi…)

  • I’m eating spicy mushroom soup right now all like “Yeah, other is delicious.”

  • safyrejet

Oh I have no problem with the circle of life, death feeding life and all that sort of stuff. It’s the statement “all water is the same” that’s a little….out there. By thinking along that line-the water in his body is the same as the water in the air, the water in the pool-that’s the part that’s leading towards the idea of ingesting self which is rather an odd way of thinking. I think what he’s trying to convey is that all life, all the universe is connected which makes sense, but the water in the pool is certainly a different water than that in his body and the water that’s way out over there on planet 42.

  • It’s a metaphor! lol!

  • safyrejet

OK, that’s what I was wondering about. How literally are we and Reona supposed to take his Great Circle of Life speech.

  • safyrejet

I’ll also point out I’m now totally reading Zap’s exposition in Mufasa voice.

  • stealth

Wow. Existentialism. It’s always a fun thing to read and write. I love the play with metaphors, it makes more depth to his explanation and is probably making Reona think like “Wow. There is definelty more to this guy then I ever dreamed about” and considering she did dream of him, that’s quite literal.
Anyway, things are moving in interesting directions. Can’t wait to hear more, I love this kind of thing.

  • You can’t have a big anime/sci-trope amalgam like Zap! without the obligatory philosophy at the end!

  • SmilingAhab

Oh boy, first the existentialism, then things get all Evangelion weird. Please don’t let his energy complex turn existence inside out or something…
    :p

  • Ori Klein

    So Zap is now jesus?
Also, not quite scientifically correct as per accuracy concerns.
But I do suppose that in terms of simplification it is a sufficient abstraction of the concept.

  • stealth

    Too right! lol

  • jaimehlers

He meant that there’s no difference between water molecules whether they’re in you, in the air, or in a pool. Because there isn’t any such difference. Water is water is water.

  • John Smith

“Luminous beings we are, not this crude matter.”
    –Yoda :)

  • John Smith

All we are is dust in the wind, dude.

  • Kid Chaos

Particle man, particle man, doing the things that a particle can…

  • Wait. Does that mean he’s technically an energy being that happens to look humanoid?

  • Tallhair-Widenose has discovered Existentialism.

  • Chocolate

“I can’t see. I think it’s because of the blindfold.”
