Can’t wait to get to this one part. It is the best.
safyrejet
Gunner, you don’t know as much as you thought you knew. It’s always about a girl, isn’t it.
Epic music, heck yeah. I’m thinking Savage Garden’s I Knew I Loved You. Let’s build a soundtrack for Zap. We’ll have a sing along. ♪♫ I knew I loved you before I meet you. I think I dreamed you into life. ♪♫
Heliarc
Can’t wait to see where this is going! :-D
Also, is it supposed to read “emapathy” instead of “empathy”?
Anonymous
No. the term is Empathy, the ability to manipulate/read emotions.
Anonymous
Of course, it’s always about a girl. The reason there’s big, gas guzzling cars, instead of smart, teeny smart cars? Because women are impressed by fast cars. Ruling over others/politics? Women are attracted by powerful men. Why boys join sports in high school, being athletic got you laid.
It’s ALWAYS been about the girls. :)
Anonymous
I think it’s more Efrem and Zap, played Gunner.
Anonymous
I sometimes have issues, so I use the Facebook login option instead.

…Well, Gunner just sent him right back to her, and he might just turn back the moment he sees her.
Terrific day for Gunner.
…Hmm, not sure if it’s “terrific” or “terrifying” :P
Anonymous
I think Heliarc was trying to politely point out that it was typo…not that Heliarc didn’t know what empathy is…
Astralfury
Hmm last attempt to post this didnt work but my joke wont be denied: He quite *literally* shipped Zap and Reona as a couple.
trashbandit
Cue epic music! I’m taking that as your offical launch of a Kickstarter to get Zap turned into a motion picture! Also, if I donate enough money I vote that I get to be an extra in the backgound, if I pay my way to the set! I’m totally in! How does July next year suit everyone!?! :D
ExPaladin
Hold on a minute. The girl? From HIS dreams?
Efrem?
Jorge L. Carreras Jr.
Tiny “smart” cars are just fancy soda-can coffins. Big “gas guzzling” cars are safer and hold more stuff. THAT is why girls like them. ;P
Gunner is thinking “I’ve made a huge mistake” at this point.
safyrejet
I like trucks.
Some women are impressed by those things. There’s plenty of non-jocks, non-politicians who get girls. I know what you mean, but there’s no need to bring in stereotypes, now you’re just asking for everyone to point out ways that life disagrees.
safyrejet
I bet with every major plot twist and story revelation the server activity in your archive spikes.
Megistus
So part of the split between Zap and Gunner is because, Zap. forgot one of the most important rules of the bro code. Brethren before Wenches;Always!
Glasshouse
My choice of epic music, Ash: Twilight of the Innocents.
By the way nice job on the coloring over the last few pages. Really sets the mood, especially the physic flares from Gunner.
Anonymous
Of course there are. Many women decide to settle for non-Jocks/Non-Politicians/Non-actors for a variety of reasons. But at some point they’ve wanted to be with one. Or ten. Maybe they don’t think they can ‘get’ one. Maybe they’ve been burnt out on them. Maybe they found out that they’re just like every other guy. Whatever. But more often than not, you’ll find women sighing over powerful, rich and ‘successful’ men.
No, we don’t. In general. Are there exceptions? Of course. There are always exceptions, thankfully. But certain magazines exist because of those generalities for a reason.
It’s life. Adapt and move on. Be what you want and can be.
Using magazines as the evidence for your opinion is a terrible point! That is like saying that 17-year-old girls represent all women because seventeen magazine is popular. Are you kidding me?
Those magazines exist in part because people accept the perpetuation of cultural stereotypes, and also because marketers want to sell products to certain demographics.
Marketers basically invented what you consider to be an ideal normative gender identity so that they could sell you products to in an attempt to live up to their impossible ideal. It’s all a scam.
I don’t accept people telling me how to be.
Also, gender roles and stereotypes vary by culture! You think that the jock or powerful man is the ideal thing that men want to be and women want because that is what you’ve been sold by western popular culture. I’ve never been attracted to that and I know I’m not some crazy aberration.
Man, this is totally my hot-button! I normally just ignore this stuff but I get really frustrated about strictly-binary gender roles. haha. aaaaah.
Anonymous
Since when was this about you? I’m not talking about anyone in particular. But there is a reason those stereotypes exist. If it’s not you, fine move on. If it is you and for whatever reason it bothers you, that’s up to you to decide if and why it’s important that it is or is not. If you’re OK with it, well you’re set, and who cares what others think?
This is not about any one person. This is just an observation through out the 39 years I’ve been alive. And like I said, it doesn’t apply to everyone, nor is it that big a deal. Live how you want.
“These stereotypes are valid.”
“They don’t apply to me. I don’t find them valid.”
“Since when is this about you?”
OKAY.
Anonymous
Exactly. They are valid, but just because they make up maybe a lot of the population doesn’t mean it includes YOU. We have 7 BILLION people on this wonderful little mudball we call home, and say (for example) 10% aren’t? Well, that’s what 70 MILLION? That’s a lot of people! Are you part of that small group that buck the trend? Probably, but I don’t know you, personally. Just like you don’t know me.
safyrejet
Heh, yeah, told you so. Touchy subject. I was just trying to set up a soundtrack. ;P
I have a agree/disagree view of stereotypes. I know there’s a reason most of them exist, since they’re based on perceptions of a majority (or even just the most vocal or visible) of a group. But I like to look for the differences that make us individuals more.
safyrejet
So instead of Efrem going down it was the website. Plot twist.
Does anyone else see that in the first panel(obviously) he’s pissed, but in the third he looks concerned? Almost like in a ‘Wait, what?’ moment with the “I found her” comment.
