(don’t forget there was an extra page last week, so click the previous comic button to see it if you missed it!)
Thank you to everyone who wished me happy birthday and also to those who came out to see us at Tokyo in Tulsa! You guys are so amazing and I appreciate each and every one of you!! You made the weekend so fun!
Please William, unscrew the evil face thing from Zap’s face. In that place. In space!

in our time of need he comes from the darkness to zap enemies with but a wave of his hand, he is…EL ZAPPO !!
Me-me
And his surname, Zap. And middle name, Zap.

…how is Zap’s hand blade rotated to the back in the last panel? It seems to have been following the path of his arm in previous panels, but following that logic means that his hand is currently pointing backwards…?
Reality aside…my two favorite characters on one page??!?!?
*dies*
Kryspix
Looks like he’s been…disarmed *sunglasses*
Sleel
Probably cause, being psionic, he can direct it whatever direction he feels like.
Rise and shine! Wakey wakey William. Come out of your mind control stupor just in time for the world as you knew it to go all kinds of wrong.
I know the Major is kinda driven by rage and maybe testosterone here, but personally if someone with a lightsaber hand dropped down in front of me leaving a big hole across my chest the last thing I’d do is try to attack them more.
safyrejet
Yeah, his parents were really uncreative so they just named him after the psychic noise that came from his lightsaber hand.
Ponders what that could mean for Gunner….

Zap Zap Zap would’ve also been a good title for this page.
safyrejet
Reality? Really. At what point does a psychic hand lightsaber venture into reality? ;P
dUrr
What is it with Jedi and their obsession with cutting limbs off?
Jordan Bryan
Seems like Zap took the term “disarm” too seriously.

Insult to injury to death

Non-lethal takedown. Jedi prefer not to kill people unless absolutely necessary, but they are wielding something that can kill in an instant, so limb removal (or slashing right through the enemy’s weapon) is the best form of incapacitation they have.
Venture
Those three slashes were Zap removing the general’s remaining limbs. In the next comic we see Maximus, reduced to little more than a torso and not knowing when to quit, scream, “Tis merely a flesh wound!”
kerrie
happy belated birthday wishes :D sorry for the lateness
Run away, William. RUN AWAY!
Or shoot Gunner through the head. Either is a good option.
Crestlinger
Gunner really put the screws to Zap, though keeping control of Zap is Taxing Gunner to the point that William is back. The question now becomes when he breaks free of the slave crown (via Reona or Kasey at a guess) is he going to have any memory of what he did while under its control?
A villain with a blade made of light threatens someone.
What everyone except Han Solo does: Tries to punch the villain, and gets disarmed.
What Han Solo does: draws a gun and shoots the villain.
While Han Solo failed to land a shot, at least he never lost an appendage…
Ori
General should’ve gone with “SONIC BOOM!” instead of “RAAAAH!”, it has a proven track record of 99% more chance of success.
Now here’s the real question. Is “ZAP” the sound of the lightsaber thing, or does Zap call out his own name whenever he executes an attack? I’d like to think it’s the latter.
keemew2
Oh dear me. Oh me oh my. William. Run. As fast and far as you can. You are no match here.
keemew2
A person can easily shift their wrist so the hand is pointed backward, I’ve done it myself, usually holding something.
keemew2
Gunners name has already been explained. He likes his psychic gun, remember?
keemew2
So then, I guess the question now is…is Zap really brainwashed or did he get his memory back and he’s reverted?
Gwen Olsen
I feel like this is going to be one of those comics that attempts “tragic hero” and then just ends up being frustratingly ungratifying. Don’t let it be like that. :<
Yeah, I know it’s possible. I don’t know why it’s confusing, but I thought I’d try to explain my thoughts behind it, I guess.
I’m showing everyone how the psychic sword works! Roll with it!! He can have it on either hand too, BTW, EVERYONE!! So if he shows up with it on the other hand later IT’S OKAY.
No, no, no – the sunglasses come first, -then- the punch line.
Ori
I see. So it’s not that zap was a nice fellow and mem-wiped himself to save the universe from Gunner’s scheme rather it’s more of a Kzer-Za/Kohr-Ah argument; whereas Zap wishes to enslave the universe under his Grip and Gunner just wants to wipe everyone not “ancients” or whatever his race is and have them be the sole cultural organism to settle the universe.
Kind of like Total Recall’s Quid. Implanted post-wipe personality was a nice-nice dude, whereas the original was a right-hand henchman with the moral sense of Dr. Hannibal Lecter.
It seems we’re albeit in a clusterfuck lose-lose situation here with the only alternative of Reona’s affect on his psyche destabilizing him sufficiently for him to turn on Gunner and then weakened sufficiently to be defeated.

“well,…it looks like our faceless friend decided to…
Hm… All evidence points to someone a bit nicer than we’re seeing…someone more like the Zap we’ve been shown up until now that had a rough sequence of events lead him down a bad path, to which he’d seen it and changed from it. Why else would he have hid the first ship and the second? Why else would he have tricked Naveed to wipe his memory? Why would Gunner be pissed off beyond words to have found his journal?
There’s more to this than has met the eye to this point…but that’s the way you want it, now isn’t it? :-D
