522 | Kick the Captain

522 | Kick the Captain

April 4, 2011 | 12:09 am, by Pascalle Lepas

You know, Reona is very bad for captains. Have you noticed this? They’re always jumping in there to help her out and getting hurt. If you are a captain, stay away from Reona. That is my advice.

Here’s some things I drew!

Tangled Fan Art!

Babbe Gunner and Zap! <3

And, of course, if you want to know what I’m up to throughout the week, you can follow me on twitter. Thanks for reading!

    “Great Ginger Git”?
    Holy (Holly?) Alliteration Batman!

And…. git. Which one of you is the smegging Red Dwarf fan?

  • Holly’s hair musta done some good damage to that mast. O_O

“git” is a common generic insult among British people, and probably other nationalities too but I can’t be bothered to remember them.

  • Netsurf

    hair of awesome +5 damage

  • Kaos

Or the mast to her… Don’t die on us Holly!

  • Wingnut

Ah, that explains it. I was wondering about the choice of words on that one, but being American the joke was lost on me.

  • PrivateEye

Methinks the Aquarians are about to show us just how powerful they are…

Its strips like this that make me wish this had more updates per week. Like two would be awesome.

  • Well, then tell your friends! I would love to put up several pages a week, but the comic has to pay my bills first. :)

I share this comic with buddies all over the internets. My ex girlfriend showed me it ages ago. Some of our current readers who also read Dominic Deegan say they prefer Zap! because of it’s art style and such. To the point where we might’ve actually even paid to get it at a comic shop. I’m still doin’ mah part!

  • I think a lot of American’s understand the term “git.” :P

  • This just keeps getting better & better! Great action too.

Hi all, new Zapling here. My (belated) theory:
Daedelus was left ‘long ago’ beneath an ancient temple so it was built ages ago, ergo Zap isn’t the maker. It was called ‘his ship’ because he found/now owns it, but Zap never flew it. It was designed by a being from a psychic race now ‘taken over’ (ie destroyed?) to find the remnants of said race scattered across the universe. For some reason, gathering the remnants became a ‘very bad idea’ and still is which is why Holly’s dad wanted it destroyed. The avatars of Daedelus and Excelsior (which would have been designed in the maker’s race’s image) both look like Reona. This would suggest Reona is a descendant of the Maker’s species. Therefore Reona is a latent psychic with only two current abilities. One: catnip for other psychics. Two: powering her arm-blaster with her ‘energy’.
I wonder what Excelsior’s primary objective is?
Was Zap’s coming predicted and carved into the temple?

  • Welcome, new Zapling!

  • Thanks! There’s some crazy stuff coming up over the next few weeks. :)

    Pannel three is sound advice.

I’m an old “Zapling!” but a new poster. I spent the last two weeks, re-reading from the beginning. It has been a wonderfully journey…again. I can’t wait to see what is coming up next. I read several webcomics and ZAP! remains one of my absolute favorites. Your artistry of ink and literature are refreshing. Keep up the good work!
And Lepas, if you are reading… what would it take for you to post twice a week?? I feel a ZAP! Donation drive coming on? I know I would help if there were a “banner” of some sort depicting how close you are to reaching the twice a week mark. I vaguely recall another web comicer calling on his loyal fans to do this… maybe Dominic Deegan… and now he posts daily… Just a thought. Sometimes, the hardest part is asking… but you might be pleasantly surprised!!
Thanks for all your HARD WORK over the years!
