Oh, poop. Not again. In Reona’s defense, the last time she took a swing at Naveed, it went better for her.
Now, three things!
If you ever made a LOLZAP, I’m trying to collect them all into a gallery. Please see here for details.
Also, I collected all the ZAPMV’s! If I missed yours let me know. Both the ZAPMV’s and the LOLZAPS are located under the ART tab in the main nav. Feel free to make some of your own, guys! I heart them major.
And here I was hoping someone would knock the crap out of Naveed. Guess it's not going to be Reona.
It's funny. That first landed punch is about when I first started reading ZAP!
fairportfan
Huh. I seem to recall Reona's arm *stopping* Naveed's blade before, too.
But why is Reona trying to deck her – is (well, “was” – even it it wasn't, it is now) her gun out of order? A quick blast to the back of the head would have been a simply wonderful idea.
And how's she going to get it fixed?
Adam850
Tsk. Reona sure has a hard time holding on to her arms.
Well, she'll just have to find our favorite Stickle, and get it repaired … and perhaps, upgraded? ;)
Speaking of Stickle tech, this high-energy piece of Stickle tech has just suffered catastrophic damage. Catastrophically damaged Stickle tech, as I recall, has a remarkably high tendency to EXPLODE. Duck and cover, anyone?
;)

I seem to remember Reona's arm being able to block that sword also. Hmm, either Naveed got stronger, or she just wasn't -trying- to slice that arm before. Neither of which seem very plausible to me.
In attempted clarification of the arm slice/blade deflection thing, I believe there is a marked difference between an attack being blocked and a directed attack as showcased here. Naveed is focusing all her power and sword skill into an actual attempt at severing Reona's arm as opposed to her slashing normally and Reona blocking which changes the dynamic of the meeting between blade and arm.
Sunphoenix_72
Well either case…poor Renoa's gonna need a hand in dealing with Naveed. {Sorry… had to be said.}
… So when do the cat girl die?(been hopeing for that for quite some time now) :D
Thrudd
That arm came off rather cleanly. Kitty supposedly knows the tech used for the arm, so does kitty have more live left to spend? Either our engineer put in some extra surprises or the call for “hit the deck” will be less then adequate.
OH SNAP!! (and believe or not, no pun was intended)
SpringLoaded12
That was Naveed's old sword I think, which was curved despite having the hilt of a broadsword, and was apparently made of tin foil given how she lost it XD
As usual Naveed is a munchkin's dream character who can magically detect all forms of attack coming her way, defend against any form of attack which doesn't surprise her, and has superhuman strength and speed.
Just call her P for Plot Device.
Abd Al-Azrad
Oh also she goes from standing face-to-face with the Captain to suddenly kneeling alone with a ten foot birth and swinging the sword in that ridiculously wide and overly dramatic arc that would have taken longer than that to swing. And given how she's swinging the blade, her power would be greatly diminished in the sword swing. It's honestly not really a plausible way to swing a sword, it's far too flashy and far too ineffective.
her last swoard was kind of a bastardized broadsword. This one is more katana. Everyone knows that science says katana's are sharper than broadswords, ergo.
She wears her heart on her sleeve. She has a tendency to lose her arm.
TalonofElysia
The catgirl planet just got glassed from orbit. Thanks Abd. Thanks a lot.
-Now- where are we going to get our tentacle rape porn? :|
Abd Al-Azrad
All I can say to this comment is… Ewww…
Gillsing
Yes, ewww! Who'd ever want to mix catgirls with tentacles? Well, except for that one animated gif of Hello Kitty…
As for surviving catgirls who weren't on their home planet, I think this might finish them off: In the panel with the sword, the swing seems to be almost parallel to the arm, but the actual cut seems to be at a 90 degree angle instead of say 210 degrees. Obviously Naveed must've held the sword upright during the swing, and then turned it down flat after the cut.Or is the arm already falling off in the third panel, and it was the arm that was held upright (like in the first panel) during the cut? If only I really cared. ;-)
Trigger
Huh. Naveed is left handed? Or maybe ambidextrous? Never noticed this before.
Also, she doesn't seem NEARLY as upset about her prize being blown up as she might ought to be. Perhaps she knows something we don't, or she still doesn't believe it?
Strike_Reyhi
I gotta hand this one to you, lepas. I think Reona may have just lost her grasp on this situation. You might have some fans up in arms over this page. Given Stickle tech tends to explode maybe this will come in handy in later pages.
Reona used to be a waitress. She is not a badass, she's a regular person who got an arm cannon and she's still learning how to use it. She blasted a giant sea monster and saved Holly from the aquarians, but because she doesn't win ALL THE TIME like a badass, she is useless.
Got it.
Jurinjo
heh yes that's what I was thinking too Trigger. I wish updates were faster! But as long as they are consistent I'm pretty happy C:
Zoning-Out
Arm is like waving
“Bye bye I am finally free!!!”
That was my stupid humor
I love your comic!! I really like Naveed in panel 3
Actually you bring up a good point. Reona used to be a waitress, but since then she's been through a great deal, but she doesn't seem to be getting any better with any consistency. Whenever she's involved in a fight, there's really no telling how she's going to react. Sometimes it seems that she's learned from her experiences and taken a level in badass, and then just as abruptly she's back in the “can't do anything right” when the plot demands it.
