I just talked to Patch Together about the status of our little AWOL squid toy. They told me the squids would be leaving the factory in September, which sounds awesome, but I will believe it when I see it.
But I thought now would be a good time to talk about the weird situation we have here. The way patch together set up the ordering is that you preorder, give them your credit card information and then they would hold that number and bill you when the toy ships. Pretty standard. This means that no one has been billed for their Billy yet (thankfully, because if they had charged people for these toys and then not delivered, you can bet I’d be making an angry ass of myself over it). Which brings us to the next thing that I am assuming will be a total disaster. My experience with online shopping carts is that they can only hold on to a credit card number for billing purposes for up to 90 days. Since it has been WELL OVER 90 days since the squids went on sale, I seriously doubt that Patch Together will have the ability to actually bill ANYONE for these orders.
Which means when the squids finally do arrive, you’ll have to reorder it. Most likely. This is just my educated prediction, but given the way this whole thing has gone, I’m pretty confident that this, too, will go wrong.
And I want to apologize for it! I had no idea this would be such a cluster. People use Patch Together all the time, seemingly without this kind of issue. We just had a lot of orders and were their first vinyl toy, and I think everything that could go wrong totally WENT WRONG.
I just want to let you guys know that I super appreciate your patience and support on this deal. Thanks for being so awesome.
*high fives*
oh yeah! And if you did order your squid from me, and have already paid for it via the webcomic bucket store, and you are sick and tired of waiting for your squid, just let me know and I’ll get you a refund. I don’t want anyone to be unhappy, and especially not our loyal readers.
